Prayer Flags

I've been seeing prayer flags throughout blogland...
So when I see that Lenna
(who hosts some fabulous and different swaps)
was having a trade
I decided to make my very first ones....
made from assorted fabrics...
seam binding...
metal embellies...
pom pom trim...
...and here they all are hanging on my garden shed...

The swap was a trade for 3 prayer flags, I made an extra one for the lovely hostess.
I really enjoyed making these...might just have to make some more now...
Anyone else fancy a prayer flag 1 for 1 swap?
Oh ...and just had to include a photo of my Barney Boy...
wanting to play while I was taking pics!!!
Can't wait to see what lovely prayer flags I get from the swap now .
Thanks for Peeking!

A splash of paint.....

Over at
Challenge # 37
is to take some inspiration from this wonderful pic below....
I was inspired by the tools of painting
(paintbrushes and Palettes)
and it also made me think of famous artists
For my DT piece
I decided to alter a wooden paint palette...
I crackle painted the background of the paint palette...
then distressed it with paint and inks,
I stamped the famous Pablo Picasso quote
and added a mini cabinet card, some shabby embellies...
fabric flowers, crochet flowers and  doilies, paint brushes, metal butterfly, lace, buttons, ruler, paper leaves and flowers and tulle.
Hop over to
..for all the full deets on this challenge
...and to see what other shabby beauties the shabby girls have created.

Liberate your Art....

Been a little busy here...My Boys have broke up from school/college and Uni for their summer holidays ...and the sun has finally made an appearance!! (WAHOO!)
....I have been blog-hopping ....But,  I will apologise now if I've not managed to leave a comment on some of my favourite blogs just lately! ...finding it hard to fit it all in at the mo!!...but will try my hardest to get round to you all at some point!!
One of the projects I've recently taken part in....
 is Kat's
postcard swap.

The swap involves sending 5 postcards with prints of your art work to Kat , then Kat sorts through the bundles of postcards that she receives and posts 5 random postcards back to you together with one of her own lovely art cards.
You can choose to write a little message or a quote (I chose the latter) on the back of each of the postcards.
So I decided to get some postcard prints made of some of my journal these are what I have sent off to kat...

Can't wait too see what lovelies I get in return now!

Oh...I do like to be beside the seaside...

This weeks theme over at
Well ....with all this lovely wet weather we are having here in the UK lately..
...there's not been much chance to enjoy a paddle at the seaside!!
So it will be great to enjoy the Seaside through our tag themes this month at Tag Tuesday!
Now, a trip to the seaside is usually a when the camera makes an appearance...
...documenting all the fun at the beach.
I've got a fascination with old photographs...
So I decided to use a mini vintage cabinet card as my base for thisweeks tag.
mini cabinet cards
I chose this little fella,
beacause I noticed that the photographer was based in Margate
 (seaside town in Kent UK)
and here is my Seaside tag.....
I've added lace, charms, trim, string, paper flower, paint and shells.
