An early BOO!..........

I'm always inspired by the fabby Linda at My Happy Place
She makes the most wonderful creations for the
I haven't taken part in a challenge for a little while....
....and I liked the the sound of the
'An early Boo!'
Halloween challenge...
I recently bought this teeny weeny creepy doll's head  at a bootsale  for  10p !!...and just couldn't wait to use it in a Halloween altered creation!!...
The little pumpkins are natural dried putka pods (mini pumpkins)
which I've painted.
Anway, I thought I would alter this little wooden home blank, to make my own shabby haunted house!
and this was the result....
First of all I added Authentique papers to the back of the compartments
then crackle painted the rest.
I rummaged through my crafty stash and embellished it with....
lace, dolls head, frozen charlotte doll, altered bottles, altered cabinet card, stickers, wooden gate embellie, bingo no., paper flowers, spider, broomstick, lizard charm, bats, vintage images, bulb,cameo......
Then I made some spooky bunting and added the letters 'TRICK
Thank you
for all the spooky inspiration!!
Thanks for Peeking!

Some more Prayer Flags....

I recently participated in Lenna Young Andrews' Fabby Prayer Flag swap

I was so happy and excited when my 3 flags arrived in the post....
Here they all are hanging on my garden shed

...although at the time this pic was taken there was a nice gentle breeze to spread the wonderful wishes and prayers out into world!!
Here is a close-up of the beautiful flags that I received...
The first beauty is from Marilou Bain
Oh...I adore the fabric, sweet vintage images lovely sentiments of 'Peace' and 'Love' and the wonderful buttons....shabbily gorgeous!!
...the second flag is from Donna-Lee Nichols
I love the ribbon flower, colours and the fabrics used and the beautiful 'harmony' sentiment which is on the reverse of the flag....absolutely wonderful!
....and last but not least is this gorgeous flag from Susan Norwood
I adore the shabby style of this prayer flag, (So Me!!)... how sweet are the little lacy pockets which have been filled with two little vintage pics, all made with adorable laces and buttons! Love it!!

One of the projects I've recently taken part in....

The swap involves sending 5 postcards with prints of your art work to Kat , then Kat sorts through the bundles of postcards that she receives and posts 5 random postcards back to you together with one of her own lovely art cards.
With 193 particpants Kat did an awesome job!

This is the first time I have liberated my artwork into the was slightly nervous!!!

I know that one of my cards landed in San Diego, CA. and another one flew to Germany.....Mmmm just wondering where the others ended up???
Did you get one?!! ;)

Autumn berries, new goodies and a prayer flag reveal

Over at Tag tuesday
the theme this week is
autumn fruits and berries
So for this week's tag..
I used this little fake autumn berry
(that I got from my lovely blog friend Margaret in a recent swap)
I thought the red accent of the berry would look nice against sepia tones...and I used a baby pic because two of my sons were Autumn babies.
I've used...
Large cream tag, which I've randomly stamped the background with 'Rose Collage' -Paper Inspirations stamp
...distressed with inks
...added some vintage lace applique which has sequins and beads (and has been dyed with tea)
...vintage photo, assorted buttons, assorted lace, fabric printed postcard, ribbon, hearts cut from cardboard and a piece of old knitwear
Oh and thank you soooo much for the get well wishes for my poorly hubby, (I'm sure the positive vibes are helping towards his recovery!!)...I'm glad to report he seems to be on the mend, the second bout of antibiotics seem to be doing the trick, this severe chest infection has really knocked him off his feet for the past few weeks...
and if you read my last post I was lucky enough to win tickets from the  Craft Stamper Blog,
 to the..
..which was held at the Glow arena over at Bluewater, which is only about a 20min drive from where I live.
I was refraining from visiting craft shows for a little while.......
I have been trying to use the stash I already have accumulated.......
but with free tickets worth £8 would have been so rude not to go along for a peek now, wouldn't it!!  ;)
So, I spent a lovely couple of hours looking round the craft stalls, with everything from sewing, knitting and jewellery making to papercraft, cardmaking and quilting ......
and these few little items just had to come home with me!!
...a box to alter, buttons, ideaology goodies, crackle glaze, tape, crown charms, washi tape, twine and ribbons!!
and now for a reveal...
If you saw my last post I was waiting for Liz (Lululiz) to receive the flag that I made.....

I now know it has arrived safely,
so here is what I made for Liz for our little Prayer flag swap...
made from assorted fabrics, vintage laces, buttons, charm, binding, image printed onto fabric...
and I chose the sentiment SMILE
and I was glad that Liz agreed...Smiling is important,
I found this little quote...
'So, No matter how upset you are, remember that it could be worse. So smile at someone else today! Make their day just a bit more friendly and maybe they'll pass it on. Who knows what kind of a chain you could start just by moving a couple of facial muscles!!'
Keep Smiling!!
Thanks for peeking!

Time flies.....

....even when your not having fun!!
Haven't blogged for nearly a couple of weeks!!
Where shall I start?..
Been a little hectic here...
My usually fit and healthy Hubby has been very poorly with a severe chest infection (bordering on pneumonia) so I've been playing nurse!! ..back and forward to the docs and hospital for blood tests and x-rays!!
He is on his second course of antibiotics fingers crossed we will see an improvement soon!!
So when some
arrived through the post just recently it really helped put a much needed smile on my face!
First of all I won two tickets to the ...
at Bluewater,
from the
The show started today, but I'm hoping to go sometime over the weekend...
A good excuse to stock up on some craft goodies!!
(Well it would be rude not too!!)
Anyone else out there going?
....then I was over the moon when I found out that I had won the talented Valerie's (Bastelmania) generous giveaway...
 A gorgeous crackle vintage effect
altered matchbox
(Now anyone that knows me and has followed my blogs/flickr will know how much I adore an altered matchbox!!)
...which arrived with beautiful handmade tags, card, minibook
and lots of wonderful inspirational goodies to play with!!!!
Thanks again Valerie!!
for spoiling me!!..Love it all!!
...and there is more...
a little while ago
I did a post on Prayer Flags
and asked if anyone fancied a prayer flag swap..
well I got a few takers....
Look at this little natural stunner...
This arrived from the lovely Liz (Lululiz in Lalaland)
I just adore all the textures, elements and of course, the bits and pieces of nature she has added.
..and such a positive word...PRESERVE
and some delightful extras too....
Thank you soooo much again Liz!! Lurve it all!!
Now, my prayer flag to Liz has just gone postal, so not to spoil her surprise, here is a little sneaky peek of what I sent to her for our trade...
...and one more sneaky peek, this time for Jen (Jenxo)
Jen, your prayer flag should be on a aeroplane to Australia as I type!!
...will reveal all when they both arrive at their destinations...
and talented Tina from Minneapolis (Flickr link)
wanted to swap as well
She sent me this fabulous colourful beauty...
I just LOVE IT!!
Tina has fused down all the fabric pieces and hand stitched it all.
How cute is that little owl.
and yet another positive word GROW.
Now, my flag for Tina hopefully should of arrived by now, so I will show what I made...
I was flabbergasted... what a wierd coincidence...we both used Owls!!
Thanks again for a fabby trade Tina!..
Well, I think thats all for this time...
