Summer of Colour 3 - Week 3 - Ollie the Owl

Summer of Colour 3- Week 3
Purple and Lime Green
are this weeks colours!

If you've not seen my last two SOC posts...
 I'm using this fab colour challenge
to teach myself to embroider...

...using the 'Little Stitches ' book by Aneela Hoey

This is my contribution for
Purple and Lime Green

I've embroidered Ollie the Owl
onto a vintage linen coaster
using lime and purple cottons.....
(couching and back stitches and French knots)
I needed to practice my French knots..so his little wings are full of them!
  ...then I added an assortment of  lime and  purple buttons.
 Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has done with these lovely colours and next weeks Colour prompt..

Thanks for Peeking!

  14. What a great idea to use SoC in that way. Ollie is gorgeous and let me tell you, you're a billion percent better than my attempts at embroidery. Everything usually ends up about an inch thick where my knots get so tangled on the back ;)

  18. I adore the clever outlining of the owl. Your work does not look in any way the work of a beginner embroiderer. Very inspiring!
