SEE THROUGH this challenge ! ! .......

Over at
Let's get Shabby
For
Challenge # 56
It's all about
Transparencies
-oOo-

So.... for my DT piece...

I decided to create a See Through Card with some printed acetate.
I've used my transparent piece of printed acetate as the front of my card, decorated it with some ribbon, buttons, paper flowers and some kaisercraft die cuts.
Attach the acetate to some kraft card (this will be back part of the card) then decorated this with a patterned paper, this shows through the acetate to give a lovely layered effect.
-oOo-

Now hop over to
Let's Get Shabby

..for the full deets ...and see what other wonderful inspiration the talented shabby girls have created for this Transparencies challenge and there's a fabulous  prize up for grabs for the challenge winner...

Thanks for Peeking!

Watercolour wonders.....

I’m playing along again this month with
 -oOo-
Tim's Fabby June inspiration...

Tim has challenged us to create the look of blended watercolour.
-oOo-
I had soooo much fun with this challenge....  this was a wonderful new Distress ink technique to me... Now, I usually avoid bright colours...so this challenge was well out of my usual colour comfort zone... but I LOVE this technique and the result!
I played with different stencils and different colour combos... but one of my favourite backgrounds had to be the 'Hearts'
Anyway.... this is my version, inspired by Tim's June tag.....

and enjoyed it soooo much....I got a little carried away and made a couple more :) ....

I've used a variety of distress inks and Tim's stamps and the little butterfly girl is a paperartsy stamp.
Thanks again Tim for the wonderful inspiration! :)
-oOo-
Looking forward to seeing what Tim has up his crafty sleeve for his July tag  now...
So until next time.....
Thanks for Peeking!

Over at Studio L3
the lovely Linda Ledbetter is hosting challenge #4 of the

with her Uber talented crew...
using the Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities Volume III book.
...and for this challenge  The Funkie Junkie Boutique,, and Tim and Mario have very generously donated more prizes! Soooo generous :)
I've been so busy the past fortnight...but I've managed to catch some creative time ... hubby is away on business, the boys are at college/work.. and Barney Boy is snoozing a usual!! (Dog's Life eh!!)..So no distractions!!.... this challenge closes today :O ... But, I find I create much better when time is limited.. I don't seem to doodle and change my mind as much!! How about you?
Anyway....
Challenge 4
Challenge #4 is Layering stencil -texture paste technique as shown on page 49 of Tim's book.
-oOo-
Anyway, here are the main ingredients for my tag....
and this is what I made for the challenge.....
I enjoyed this technique so much...I created 6 tag backgrounds with a variety of stencils and different coloured inks....
(It's amazing what you can achieve with no distractions LOL!)
Then I chose 2 of my texture paste backgrounds to decorate....
I've used the Hollybough stencil for the texture paste with this one.
and the Bubble stencil for inking...

and for my second tag....
I've used the Measured and Burlap stencils with the texture paste
and the Bubble stencil for inking...
Both images are from Tim's idea-ology Found Relatives ..(I just adore the vintage portraits used in this collecton.)
Inks & stains
assorted idea-ology
ribbons & lots of vintage buttons!!
