Crazy Birds and some Tim time!.....

Oh, I've missed playing along with Tim's inspiring tag art so far this year!! So I was more than ready for some Tim time!!
Here's Tim's Creative March inspiration

This month...Tim has got us playing and experimenting with our distress paints and some embossing.
Whoooo...I just love getting painty!

...and I've finally managed to get my hands on the Crazy Birds stamps, they seem to be sold out everywhere?!.
..and I couldn't wait to use these quirky little fellas on a project or two!
So I replaced the butterfly stamp from Tim's tag  with one of the these little cuties!
So this is my Entry for Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2015
 ...Just LOVE idea-ology doo-dads!!
Thanks again to Tim for some amazing inspiration and Looking forward to seeing what Tim excites us with his April tag  now...

So until next time.....
Thanks for Peeking!

A week of crafty Bliss.....

...I've just come back from a lovely week away with Hubby and Barney Boy...
and am glad to report the house was still standing ... after leaving two of my sons in charge while we were away!!
...So I've just caught up with the dreaded holiday washing & ironing....housework (ooops..sorry for swearing!)all done...
So I thought I would blog about my week of crafty Bliss!!
If you saw my last post, you would of seen I won some tickets to the....
at Olympia...
Well...I had an absolutely lovely day...
Lots of wonderful stalls, goodies to buy and beautiful inspiration...
Here's what hopped into my shopping bags and came home with me that day!!
Yarn, Ribbons, fabrics, beads and some rather large knitting needles!!
I've already used the smaller of the pair to knit a nice chunky cushion cover (using 7 strands of assorted yarn)
...and then on Saturday I was lucky

to have a fantabulous workshop with the talented...
as a pre-Mothers Day treat !
I have been a fan of Andy Skinner's Art for some time.
So when I found out that he was running a workshop local to me at
 That's Crafty in Romford
I was uber excited to get a place on one of his classes!
So...With Andy's expert teaching and guidance...
We altered these plain boring pieces
to create this antique-y yummy painty goodness...
My finished project.
...using some of the DecoArt Media Range..which are amazing products.
Oozing with faux rust, crackled and peeling paint!! Love Love Love it!!
I learnt lots :)
...I Just adore the rust effects that you can get from paint techniques!!
I really enjoyed Andy's workshop,  It's the first time I have visited 'That's Crafty'
It's run by the lovely Laura and Graham....they sell a wide range of papercraft and mixed media art supplies. They also have a very large selection of stamps and masks, stencils and templates.
So a few more pennies were spent that day :)
On these little treasures...
Thanks again to my three lovely boys who treated me :)
Oh, I will definitely be back for another workshop and a crafty shop at That's crafty in the future ;)
Now, I'm off to play with some of my new goodies!!..Time to get painty me thinks!!
Thanks for peeking!

A new look...and Challenge #61
Over at
(Previously known as Let's Get Shabby)
'Let's Get Shabby'
Challenges first started in 2009
Times have changed and many of us have found our styles have too!
So it's time to move forward and add in being a little

Colour Swatch Challenge!
Pick a photo from your own photo gallery – put it through ‘Chip It’

to  get the swatch colours….

And create a project  based on at least four colours from the colour swatches.

On your blog we will need to see:

Two photos….

One of your ‘Chip It’ photo with the swatches

One of your arty project

And list the colour names of your choice.

Here Is my 'Chip It' photo and colour swatches...
I decided to alter a card and wooden 'Boat' Blank for my DT piece.
First of all I rooted through my crafty search of paints, fabrics, ribbons some of the colours from my colour swatches.
Painted my boat blank... in 3 of the colours...mixing my paints to get as near to the colour swatches as I can.
...then I decorated my sails with...fabrics, lace, crochet flower & doily, buttons, embroidered heart and a little hand - stitchery!
I crackle painted the base of my boat using a PaperArtsy crackle medium between my blue and and white coats of paint.
Then I added a Tim Holtz 'word band' Enjoy the Journey.
So Inspired by my 'LetsChipIt' photo swatches
from this
to this....
Anyway I hope you will hop over to
Let's Get ARTY
..for the full deets ...and to support us in our new look challenges.
You will also see what other wonderful inspiration the talented international Arty girls have created for this challenge #61 and there's a fabulous  prize up for grabs for the challenge winner....

Thanks for Peeking!
