Clean and Simple......

Over at

....they would like you to keep it simple  - a less is more challenge!
Now... I have always found CAS cards a real Big challenge...as maximum embellishment is my middle name LOL!!
I thought I would make some cards for my knitting pals....
I've used....Kraft card, Archival ink, stamped (Purple Onion design - Heart Banner / Crafter's Companion - Close Knit Friends)
paper pieced assorted papers, paperartsy paints, white pen.
They look great in a different range of colours/patterns too!....
But it's so hard not to add more embellies...lace, ribbons and buttons etc....
Clean and simple is sooooooo hard for me!

Thanks for peeking!

I'm also entering this in for the..
Simon says Weds, Clean and Simple

Tim Time...April tag

Are ready for some Tim time!!
I am!!!...
 -oOo-
Here's Tim's Creative April inspiration
This month...
Tim has got us playing and experimenting with our distress marker spritzer and distress markers to get fab watercolour effects.
......and stitching...I just LOVE a bit of stitching!!!
Sadly.... I don't own Tim's gorgeous Flower Garden stamps...
...so substituted them for a TH crazy bird and some JoFy flowers.
-oOo-
So this is my Entry for Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2015....

I also didn't have the dies Tim used on his lovely tags...so I've used the Tim Holtz 'Peace' (movers and shapers die) and some idea-logy 'Alpha parts' instead.
...I enjoyed making this tag so much...I just had to make another ...
this time using a Prima face stamp from the Bloom collection...

-oOo-
Thanks again to Tim for some amazing inspiration and Looking forward to seeing what Tim inspires us... with his May tag  now...

So until next time.....
Thanks for Peeking!

Painty fun ...JOFY style.....

I had some good painty inky fun
style
at
(Awesome Craft Shop!)
on Saturday
....where we got to stamp, layer and paint a cute canvas, using Prima doll stamps, a range of JoFy stamps and stencils and some scrummy PaperArtsy paints...
Jo..is a lovely teacher...and her JOFY range of stamps are so versatile for cards, journaling, canvasses etc...
Anyway here is my finished project...

It was lovely to see everyone's finished canvas...we all used the same paints, stamps and stencils...but because of the different papers used for the Prima dolls dresses... all the projects looked so lovely and different
 A fabulous workshop..Thanks again Jo.

A swap for all seasons....April time....

Oh, I have been having sooooo much fun playing along with Linda's lovely mini fabric sampler swap
over at
and last month I received my March sampler from
Debbie
from
and this is what she sent to me all the way from Ohio, USA
...as soon as I see my package wrapped in sewing pattern paper and string...I just knew immediately I was going to LURVE the contents!
Made by Debbie

...and I was not wrong!!
From the vintage fabric and my favourite flower ROSES surrounded by all those beautiful MOP HEART buttons (Swoon!) sweet lil pegs, and the gorgeous doily and ribbon! It's perfect!

...and Debbie also sent me some lovely goodies....a lovely postcard, beautiful floral fabrics and the Lovely Folk Heart ...which will definitely be put to good use in a future project :)
Thank You again Debbie !
-oOo-
...and my March mini sampler swap was sent to
Patty in Kansas, USA
from
Patty mentioned in one of her lovely friendly emails that her  favourite flower is a sun flower (which happens to be the Kansas State flower).
So I sorted through my fabric stash...
and there was some sunflower patterned fabric ...I forgot I even had!!
So I grabbed that and a few other bits and pieces....
...and this is what I created for Patty..

....fabrics, doilies, felt flowers, buttons, crochet flower, lace and a vintage image printed onto fabric and a little Bee charm :)
Poor Patty...was very patient and understanding...She had to wait a long while to receive her mini quiltie from me...my little package sent from the UK....must have decided to take the longest possible route to Patty's home in Kansas!!!..
....So I was so glad to hear of it's safe arrival yesterday! (Phew!)
-oOo-
I've having fun with my April sampler now ...such a pleasurable swap!!
Thanks for peeking!

April Flowers.......

Over at
For
Challenge # 62
It's all about ....
Altered Paper/fabric challenge
Alter/change (in an ARTY way) the pattern on  patterned paper or fabric. Use some/all/tiny piece of your original paper/fabric in your project.
So...here is the patterned fabric that inspired me....
Some old vintage floral curtain fabric
(....The 'Sound of Music' film keeps going through my mind for some reason LOL!!
Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself.....)

 Anyway...back to the Challenge!!...

I've been meaning to start another fabric journal for ages...
so this fabulous challenge gave me the Inspiration and motivation that I needed!!
......I've used some of the vintage floral fabric in its original form for the background of my fabric journal page and then cut out two of the flowers from the same fabric and made them into padded embellishments to decorate my fabric journal cover
To make the padded floral embellishments, I've just cut them out and backed them with some felt (sewn together), these little embellies would also look good, with a pin added to the back to make a fabric brooch?

Here is the fabric journal cover I created for my DT piece...
I dug through my fabric stash... and found some complimentary fabrics, vintage buttons, doilies, lace, pins, vintage embroidered linens and a picture printed onto fabric
All collaged and hand sewn together.
-oOo-
Now Hop over to.
..for the full deets on this challenge...and see what other wonderful inspiration my talented International team mates have created for this
 Altered Paper/fabric challenge
....and there's a Super prize up for grabs for the challenge winner...

...and, I've got lots of this fabric left....
to make some more fabric pages ....or even a dress or two like Julie Andrews in the film!! ;) LOL
Oh No, got that pesky song in my head again now!!..
Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread.......

 On that Note!....
Thanks for Peeking!
